Supporting young people to achieve the next steps in their careers

The Hub works closely with the Marches Skills Provider Network which is a network of all the local Universities, FE Colleges and Training Providers. This ensures good quality information on vocational provision and access to their links to hundreds of local employers. The Hub is therefore constantly updated on current and emerging opportunities.

What's in it for you?

The overall aim is that Hub users will, within the time frame, have been able to successfully move on to an appropriate next step such as apprenticeship, traineeship, full time course, work.

The Hub offers

  • Careers and next step advice and planning
  • Information on the local network of work based learning provision via college and independent providers
  • Support to identify opportunities and to apply for them
  • Support with completing forms, building a CV, completing apprenticeship/job/FE applications
  • Support with interview techniques
  • Signposting to other support agencies, sources of grants and benefits
  • An ongoing drop in facility to provide re-assurance

Hub users will initially benefit from

  • An individual needs analysis and an action plan
  • Ongoing engagement with the Hub over a period of up to two months
  • Up to twenty four hours of one to one personal guidance and support
  • On-line and group activities as required

The Apprenticeship and Skills Hub is provided by SBC Training in Shrewsbury and Oswestry. On-line support is also available.
